Sustainable Energy Fund
CAN DO acts as a financial consultant in pulling together various grants and loans to implement an energy project most efficiently. A primary partner in this effort is Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF).
Sustainable Energy Fund is a non-profit organization that promotes energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy education initiatives in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the eastern PJM territory, which includes New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
SEF works with all types of commercial entities including small businesses, municipalities, school districts, nonprofits, farmers, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and transportation companies to reduce the consumption of energy from non-sustainable sources and to promote various forms of renewable energy.
SEF provides flexible high-quality financing for economically viable, energy-efficient, and renewable energy projects for nonprofits and businesses of all sizes.
Unlike a traditional commercial bank, SEF has the technical and financial expertise to understand your project and its unique financial requirements. Loan payments are custom-sized for each project to be less than the monthly energy savings, creating a positive cash flow. SEF will work with companies to develop extremely reasonable terms (interest rates) for creditworthy clients. Energy savings pay for debt service.
SEF can also provide the upfront bridge financing for renewable energy projects until public incentives can be finalized.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission created Sustainable Energy Fund as a public benefit fund in 1999.
