The Northeastern Pennsylvania Venture Partnership is a joint entrepreneurial initiative between Hazleton, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre designed to grow new business ventures in Northeastern Pennsylvania and develop our entrepreneurial culture, expertise and infrastructure.
Through the partnership, CAN DO, the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business and Industry and the Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company have all invested in the Mid-Atlantic Angel Group, an early-stage investment fund based out of Philadelphia that can provide seed capital for technology-based growth businesses.
The intent is to improve the economic development agencies’ knowledge of how to guide startup companies with a replicable business model through the capitalization stage and to provide local companies with a resource for investment capital.
The NEPA Venture Partnership brings together all of the various support mechanisms and resources to foster the creation of an entrepreneurial culture in Northeastern Pennsylvania by providing access to a venture capital fund, peer support and access to business services.
If you are launching a new business, expanding a small home-based business or creating a spin-off venture from an existing business, CAN BE can help. You can visit CAN BE at www.canbe.biz.
