The Pennsylvania Angel Network (PAN) is a group of affiliated investors who provide early-stage financing to regional start-up businesses. Each member of PAN makes his or her own investment decisions. To be a member of PAN, an individual must be an accredited investor. The group meets on a quarterly basis to review business plans and to network with firms looking for Angel investments.
The Pennsylvania Angel Network focuses its private investing efforts in the Hazleton/Wilkes-Barre/Scranton region of Pennsylvania. The group has a screening committee to pre-select and invite qualified companies in need of capital to make a presentation to the Angel Network.
Specific objectives are:
- Support existing angel networks and assist in the creation of new angel investor groups;
- Facilitate angel education and enable the sharing of best practices amongst angel groups and others;
- Encourage collaboration and communication among angel groups and group leaders, other forms of capital and various other organizations that support the mission of PAN;
- Provide resources to improve due diligence.
