CAN DO Community Christmas is coordinated each year by CAN DO’s Student Action Committee, which is made up of local high school students who plan and assist with special community projects throughout the year. The event is held at Christ Lutheran Church in downtown Hazleton every December.

The crowd hears Christmas tunes performed throughout the evening by a variety choral groups and instrumental ensembles from of elementary, junior high and high schools throughout Greater Hazleton.

The children write letters to Santa with the help of the students on the committee.

Highlighting CAN DO’s Community Christmas is a special visit from Santa Claus, who takes time to visit with the children in attendance on his way to the North Pole.

Each student who performs at CAN DO Community Christmas receives a T-shirt designed by the Student Action Committee as a thank you for participating in the event.
