The City of Hazleton and its surrounding communities are collectively known as the Greater Hazleton area.

It is approximately two and a half hours away from New York City, less than that from Philadelphia, and slightly more from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Greater Hazleton is close to two international airports while one municipal airport is located on the North side of the city:

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport (AVP) is approximately 35 miles north. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport offers about 30 flights per day on six international carriers.

The Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) is approximately 45 miles south. The Lehigh Valley International Airport offers about 33 flights per day on eight international carriers.

The Hazleton Municipal Airport is located in the City of Hazleton. Private planes and jets are able to land here.

Seven miles of rail line, owned and maintained by Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad (RBMN), run through Humboldt Industrial Park. As the largest privately owned railroad in Pennsylvania, RBMN operates a scheduled railroad six days a week, offering each customer specific service window for rail deliveries.
