CAN DO Energy Solutions has partnered with several trusted solar design and installation companies to provide this exciting renewable energy source in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Solar power is energy that comes from the sun. This energy hits the Earth regardless of whether or not we take advantage of it. Even the tiny percentage of sunlight that touches the Earth is enough to meet the energy and power needs of the entire human population more than 8,500 times over.
Solar energy is a completely free and inexhaustible fuel source. No fuel, waste, or pollution is expelled in its usage. It can be used for low-power purposes as well as larger ones. There is no need to process sunlight beyond the amount which a solar cell or solar collector is capable of doing.
Today’s technology allows us to capture solar power in several ways, giving companies flexible ways to employ both the heat and light of the sun.
There are four ways to harness solar energy:
- Photovoltaics (converting light to electricity);
- Heating and cooling systems (solar thermal);
- Concentrating solar power (utility scale), and
- Lighting.
Active solar energy systems employ devices that convert the sun’s heat or light to another form of energy we use. Passive solar refers to special siting, design or building materials that take advantage of the sun’s position and availability to provide direct heating or lighting.
